Who or what the fuck is Cockney Cowgirl?
Cockney Cowgirl is the silly artist name I chose for myself back in 2021 when I wanted to pick a name that people remembered and maybe found amusing. I dont know whether people do. I wasn't technically born within the Bow Bells, I'm actually a North Londoner - but as my late dad said; 'fucking ignore that, Bow Bells used to cover all of London, I'm a cockney and so are you'. Or something passionate and explicit as that.

What is your art about?
I tend to draw things I am inspired by - for example I love kitsch imagery such as 50s animal ornaments and Kewpies - all of which I collect. Music also has an integral part of my art. My art usually has a political message behind it or something I feel super passionate about. You'll often find me going on about the rights of oppressed people and how much I hate the British government. I believe art is an integral part of protest and as someone who can't always get to protests due to my disabilities, one of my ways of joining in and making myself and others feel heard is by making pretty but powerful art.

What does your artistic process look like?
Nothing particularly polished or interesting. I sit and sketch in bed with a cuppa watching Eastenders or in one of my local cafes. One day I'll have a studio to fanny about in. Sketch enough silly ideas and you'll eventually come up with something.
